The last theme that I have found to be dominant in The Maze Runner is death. The amount of boys that have died when going into the maze is sky high. Also they say that everyone who enters the maze is never heard from again. Death is also present when Thomas stumbles across the graveyard. He even saw a grave sight of a young boy who tried to escape. The boys in the glades are simply being controlled by monsters. The monsters take one boy every night at one point. So these boys are being forced to see how far they can push themselves until the limit is reached.

I also have read the Maze Runner series (there is said to be another book coming out in 2016!). James Dashner has such talent in the way he worded each situation. He found a way to throw different motifs out there while keeping it smooth and enjoyable to read.
ReplyDeleteWould you mind identifying one of the motifs? I am interested in reading this series but do not know if I would like it that much.

DeleteI never thought to mention the motifs it's very interesting that you mentioned that. Also I did not realize that there is another book said to be coming out in 2016 I will be looking forward to it!

ReplyDeleteAs you said there is a lot of friendships in this book, I believe friendships is very important. People need them to stick by them. Also it's great to have someone to talk too.
ReplyDeleteYes exactly!!! When Thomas finally had someone to talk to, his personality began to show. Before when Thomas was quiet we couldn't figure out his personality besides what was said. But once he started developing friendships is when we could see his personality Indirectly.
DeleteAlthough I have only seen the movie, the book seems to have quite a few differences. I enjoyed the gifs within your blog, and the overall structure as well.

ReplyDeleteAlthoughI have not seen the movie I can assume that there will be differences as expected. But thank you I felt as if the gifs would help give connections to the events in the book
